“A healer is not someone that you go to for healing. A healer is someone that triggers within you, your own ability to heal yourself”.
Reiki is a healing technique based on the principle that a practitioner can channel universal healing energy into the recipient by means of touch. The natural healing processes of the body are activated, restoring physical and emotional well-being. Reiki is non-evasive and has no side effects. It just can’t get any better than that!
Generally considered an alternative form of medicine, Reiki always benefits and never harms. Originating in Tibet in the early 20th century by a Buddhist Monk named Mikao Usui, Reiki has been adapted into varying cultural traditions around the world. Using gentle touch and sometimes incorporating crystals, items from the natural world, yoga poses or sound therapies, Reiki is a relaxing experience. Clients receiving Reiki treatments report feeling soothing waves of warmth and comfort coming from the practitioner’s hands.
One of the primary channels for Reiki to bring balance and a renewed sense of well-being back into the body, is through the Chakras. While Chakras are not visible or tangible, their existence is powerful and necessary for all of the connections we make with the universe. All experiences - positive and negative – live within the Chakras. Both physical and emotional trauma can affect Chakra growth and development. Reiki facilitates healing and release of blockages, restoring balance, clarity and freedom of personal expression.
The Chakra system:
Our Root Chakra (Muladhara) is in balance when we are feeling acceptance, belonging, security and attachment.
Our Sacral Chakra (Svadisthana) is in balance when we have plentiful energy reserves along with healthy personal relationships and sexual expression.
Our Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) is in balance when we are able to freely express self esteem and self identification, integrity and confidence.
Our Heart Chakra (Anahata) is in balance when we are feeling compassion, empathy, our connection to others and love.
Our Throat Chakra (Visuddha) is in balance when we express ourselves with confidence and sincerity – including singing, laughing, dancing and writing.
Our 3rd Eye Chakra (Anja) is in balance when we fully trust our intuition and perceptions. We are able to think critically and have clarity in our thoughts and ideas.
Our Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) is in balance when we feel aware, purposeful and united.
Healing occurs as the practitioner helps connect recipients to their own source of universal healing energy, bringing the natural and desired state of balance back into being. Practitioners serve only as a channel for healing energies. They study with Reiki Masters and receive attunements. Practitioners, during their training, learn methods and best practice for channeling Reiki healing energy to recipients.
